About KLEENOIL

50 Years of Leadership in Cellulose Depth Filtration

Since 1976, KLEENOIL has specialised exclusively in cellulose depth filtration, delivering trusted oil filtration solutions across the UK and worldwide.

Our systems are used across every industrial and commercial sector—from transport and power generation to marine and hydraulic systems—ensuring cleaner oil, longer equipment life, and better machine hygiene.

Our Story

Born from Innovation, Proven Through Time

KLEENOIL was established following the Israeli-Egyptian war of 1974, during a time of heightened global awareness around oil conservation. Originally developed to extend oil life in the transport sector, the system quickly proved effective across a wide range of applications.

By 1986, after a decade of success in the domestic UK market, KLEENOIL began exporting—and has since grown to serve over 20 countries worldwide, directly supplying systems for vehicle engines, generators, marine vessels, and increasingly, hydraulic oil purification.

What Sets Us Apart

The KLEENOIL Difference

For over 50 years, KLEENOIL has been a market leader in bypass cellulose depth filtration, offering a full-service solution: from in-house design and manufacturing to installation, support, and condition monitoring — all based in the UK.

🇬🇧 Made in Britain — We provide genuine KLEENOIL filtration products using natural cellulose depth media and post-production recycled materials to meet the highest standards of oil cleanliness and moisture control.

Technology Explained

What Is Bypass Cellulose Depth Filtration?

Bypass filtration (also known as kidney-loop or polishing filtration) works alongside a system's primary filter. It continuously filters a small portion of oil at low speed using highly absorbent media for deeper cleaning.

Unlike full-flow systems that process all oil quickly, bypass filtration works slowly and thoroughly—removing contaminants that conventional filters miss.

Performance Comparison

Why Bypass Is Better Than Full-Flow Filtration

❌ Full-Flow Filters

  • Process all oil quickly
  • Allow fine particles to pass through
  • Become ineffective when saturated

✓ KLEENOIL Bypass Filters

  • Remove particles down to 3 microns
  • Absorb up to 99.5% of water
  • Achieve ISO cleanliness better than new oil
The Process

How It Works

The system continuously cycles oil through a high-density filter and returns clean oil back to the system, improving overall cleanliness over time.

This continuous polishing process ensures your oil stays cleaner for longer, reducing wear, extending component life, and minimising downtime.

Superior Technology

Why Cellulose Depth Filtration?

The media captures contaminants throughout its depth, not just on the surface. This provides:

  • Higher contaminant holding capacity
  • Reduced clogging risk
  • Consistent filtration performance
  • Extended filter life and lower operating costs
Diesel Filtration

Clean Diesel Matters More Than Ever

Modern engines require extremely clean fuel. Contamination causes injector damage, poor combustion, and costly downtime.

KLEENOIL (KLEENFUEL) delivers:

  • Filters down to 3 microns
  • Removes free and emulsified water
  • Improves engine efficiency and lifespan

Protect your investment with filtration that meets the demands of today's high-precision diesel engines.

Our Legacy
